1. India Premier League (IPL)
206OM is proud to have had a long-standing association with the world’s premier T20 cricket league,
the Indian Premier League
until 2021. Contracted through
IMG London
, 206OM were responsible for providing consultancy services to the
BCCI
for the medical requirements for the entire IPL.
In a first of its kind revolutionary role for a sports event of this size in India, Tamara was appointed as the Medical Director in 2011.
Tamara created and established a benchmarking structure to ensure the delivery of safe and effective medical practices to the players, support staff and their franchisees, as well as the spectators and on-site crew working for the IPL matches.
She created extensive guidelines and worked with dedicated medical service providers at each venue, making sure they provided the highest standards of medical care suited to such a prestigious event.
The 206OM Team took over the role in 2013, and created a standardised approach to medical services implemented by medical service providers across all venues in India, throughout the Indian Premier League.
2. New Zealand Cricket Team
206 Optimal Movement associated with the New Zealand International Cricket Team during the action-packed 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
206OM Founder Tamara Zweck was appointed as the Physiotherapist for the Blackcaps team in charge of managing the 15 member squad through matches during the World Cup campaign.
Tamara travelled with the New Zealand Cricket Team during the 2011 cricket ODI World Cup, managing injuries & illnesses, providing treatment to players, creating fitness goals and helping with post-match recovery, becoming an integral part of the support team that helped the Blackcaps reach the Semi Finals.
3. The Amateurs Riders' Club (ARC)
206 Optimal Movement worked with ARC Mumbai
to provide comprehensive Sports Physiotherapy services from 2018 till the end of 2019.
The 206OM Team provided treatment and care for all local and international Polo riders and teams throughout the seasons.
In keeping with the dynamism and mechanics of the sport, our expert team worked together to provide care for on and off-field injuries and hands-on therapy for riders of all age groups.
4. Bangarra Dance Theatre, Australia
206Optimal Movement is glad to have associated with the Bangarra Dance Company, an internationally acclaimed dance troupe from Australia.
The 206OM Team provided clinical services during their visit to India in 2018. Working with the troup from their arrival to Mumbai, through the days leading up to the event, the dancers were treated for pain relief, recovery and preparation for their performances.
It was a fulfilling experience to see the freedom of movement in action and we are glad to have had the opportunity to help the dancers with treatments and practical advice to best optimise their training and performances.
5. Yeh Ballet, Netflix Movie
206 Optimal Movement had the pleasure of working on the Netflix film ‘Yeh Ballet’
with Tamara as the Ballet Physiotherapist, contracted by choreographer Cindy Jourdain (Royal Ballet, London) and the producers.
The 206OM team were entrusted with providing Physiotherapy for the talented lead dancers and actors of the film, helping them achieve the required physical endurance, develop capabilities, avoid injuries and maintain peak physical fitness in varied indoor and outdoor locations.
6. Mandhardevi Athletic Foundation
Our result-driven ongoing association with the Mandhardevi Athletics Foundation (MAF) includes guidance, strategy and treatments for approximately 40 talented athletes (12-20 years of age) from underprivileged parts of Maharashtra, India.
206OM has created custom-designed Physiotherapy services and plans for MAF and the athletes under training to make sure they have the physical and physiological foundation and infrastructure to become champion athletes.
We created a new Assessment program to measure the current physical and physiological capabilities of the young team, and explore the issues faced by the athletes.
We delivered programmes that have helped the MAF team tackle and prevent injuries and physical shortcomings, as well as improve their strength and performance abilities. 206OM’s work with MAF Athletes has enabled them to follow a structured training programme and inculcate better body awareness, which has yielded consistently great results.
7. Lectures & Talks
206OM Director Tamara Zweck, the founder of 206 Optimal Movement in Mumbai, India, is an expert voice in Orthopaedic and Sports Physiotherapy and complicated Neuromusculoskeletal cases. Her vast experience spans hospital practice, clinical practice, on-field sports practice, post graduate education, and project management to improve services for the sports community at large.
Tamara is an established expert in the field of Physiotherapy in India and has conducted lectures for numerous associations, universities, premier sports academies, fitness associations, Orthopaedic conferences and other specialised conferences.
